Michael Boyd

Michael Boyd serves as General Counsel for Affinius Capital. Michael manages and supervises the legal team, which is responsible for legal, risk, and compliance-related matters for the company and its affiliated entities. Frequently working with outside counsel, Affinius Capital’s legal staff handles the negotiation and documentation of acquisition and disposition transactions, development and financing transactions, co-investment structuring, and leasing for the company’s sponsored portfolios, and provides legal advice to management in the home and regional offices. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Affinius Capital LLC and is a non-voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee.</br></br> Before joining Affinius Capital in 2020, Michael spent more than 32 years in private practice with the international law firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP. He was the partner in charge of the Real Estate Group for HAK’s Houston office. He has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in Real Estate (2010-2020) and as one of the leading Real Estate lawyers in the United States by The US Legal 500 (2010-2019).</br></br> Michael received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas, and his law degree from Southern Methodist University. Michael is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Real Estate Lawyers Council.
