Alex Rapoport
Managing Director
Alex manages loan production nationally for Affinius Capital’s commercial real estate mortgage lending platform. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the production efforts of the company’s regional originations team, as well as developing and strengthening relationships with borrowers, commercial mortgage brokerages, financial intermediaries, and with other lenders as it relates to co-lending opportunities.
Prior to joining Affinius Capital in May 2014, Alex spent over six years at Pacific Life Insurance Company of Newport Beach, California in their Real Estate Division. While at Pacific Life, Alex worked in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, culminating with his tenure as the Director, Southwest Region in the company’s mortgage loan originations practice. In this capacity, Alex was responsible for originating over $1.5 billion of commercial real estate loans throughout the southwestern United States. Prior to joining Pacific Life, Alex worked in commercial real estate asset management within GE Capital Real Estate’s Irvine, California office, where he helped manage a $3.5 billion portfolio of debt and equity investments across the western United States. From 2001 to 2006 Alex was a Senior Consultant and Associate Consultant in the Los Angeles office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s Advisory Services practice, working on consulting engagements in a variety of industry sectors, including real estate.
Alex earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2008 from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine, graduating with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he was a double major in Business Economics and History. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, and the Life Mortgage and Real Estate Officers Council.
